Berkeley Netball Club – Perpetual Awards
Each year our club awards members of our club that have shown outstanding commitment to their team or the club in a variety of different ways.
The following are a list of our perpetual awards that are awarded to our members each year.
Sue Goding Trophy – 8yrs Encouragement Award
The Sue Goding Trophy is awarded to an 8 year old player who has shown commitment to their team and teammates and outstanding overall improvement of their netball skills.
Junior Player of the Year
This award is awarded to the Junior player that has received the highest overall point score using the 3, 2,1 point system. Points are awarded to players by their coaches based on their game play each week.
Margaret West Memorial Trophy – Junior Club Person of the Year
This award is awarded to the Junior player who has shown outstanding commitment to their team and the club through their overall attendance, behaviour and willingness to help in different facets of club life.
Intermediate Player of the Year
This award is awarded to the Intermediate player that has received the highest overall point score using the 3, 2,1 point system. Points are awarded to players by their coaches based on their game play each week.
Intermediate Club Person of the Year
This award is awarded to the Intermediate player who has shown outstanding commitment to their team and the club through their overall attendance, behaviour and willingness to help in different facets of club life.
Senior Player of the Year
Each week, Senior team members are asked to vote for a player in their team who they feel showed outstanding sportsmanship and gameplay. The senior player who receives
the most votes across all teams is awarded Senior player of the year.
Senior Club Person of the Year
This award is awarded to the Senior club member who has shown outstanding commitment to the club through a variety of different ways such as playing, coaching, umpiring, fundraising and/or helping coordinate club events. The senior club member is nominated by the committee members.
Edna Jenkin Trophy – Team Encouragement Award
This award is awarded to the team who has shown consistent effort and improvement in their overall skills as well as excellent sportsmanship to each other and their opponents. Teams who receive this award are nominated and chosen by the committee members.
Elizabeth Smits Memorial Trophy – Club Team of the Year
This award is given to the team who has shown outstanding commitment to not only their game play but also to helping in different facets of club life such as coaching, umpiring, fundraising and/or helping coordinate club events, showing club pride as a team.
Coach of the Year Award
This award is given to a coach that the committee feels has done an outstanding job in improving their skills as a coach, being committed to their team and providing our club members with an excellent netballing experience through improving our players skills and abilities while having fun.
Umpire of the Year Award
This award is given to one of our club umpires who has shown improvement in their umpiring over the season such as achieving an umpires badge or has been an outstanding asset to the clubs umpiring team over the course of the season. This recipient of this award is nominated by the clubs Umpires Convenor.
